Job summary: Assist the classroom teacher with instructional tasks working directly and indirectly with students. These tasks will constitute the major portion of the Educational Support Professional time.
Responsibilities and tasks include:
- Assist in general classroom operational procedures such as setting up and operating audiovisual equipment setting up physical education equipment preparing and setting up art supplies.
- Work directly with students individually or in small groups on academic and motor or social skills e.g. math science English color recognition decision making selfesteem building etc.
- Assist students and teachers in large group activities/projects such as art physical education dramatics.
- Seek out special instructional materials to assist with students having particular learning problems e.g. separate math skill worksheet not a part of teachers curriculum.
- Type worksheets tests or various instructional material; duplicate and assemble.
- Basic knowledge of iPads Chromebooks and Google Suite
- Correct tests via computer. Record results in grade books.
- Perform other duties as assigned by principal or designee.
- Participation in district training program prior to and during employment.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Applicants must be Highly QualifiedApplicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesotas standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of fulltime enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR
- An Associates (or higher) degree; Minnesotas standard: An AA AS AAS (or higher) degree OR
- Received a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
Knowledge skills and abilities include: - Persons employed shall have the skills needed to perform tasks and work with children staff and parents.
- Must have physical capability to lift and attend to physical needs of students as required.
Salary: View Classification II 2 salary grid on page 4 section 2 and classification page 5 section 2 on Educational Support Professional contract
Work schedule: 6 hours/day;5 days/week Temporary from approximately 10/14/24 through 11/29/24.
Bargaining Unit: Educational Support Professional this position does not qualify for health and dental insurance due to the number of work days in the assignment.
