Job Description
ST. MARK Catholic School is searching for full-time Instructional Assistants for grades1 and 2 for the 2025-2026 school year. Qualified candidates will have an interest in teaching students and a desire to work for a Catholic school.
ST. MARK is a mid-sized Catholic Pre-K through grade 8 school in Vienna Virginia. We have two classes per grade from Kindergarten through grade 8 with an average of 20 students per class. Our1st grade and 2nd grade classes are staffed by committed teachers who inspire and challenge young learners to grow in every area: spiritually academically physically emotionally and teachers work closely with one another to provide a challenging and supportive educational experience for all students. This position is ideal for a recent college graduate interested in exploring teaching as a potential career for a stay-at-home parent looking to get back into the workplace or for someone interested in sharing their love of learning and faith with others.
As an Instructional Assistant you will be an important part of the ST. MARK team working closely with the classroom teacher to implement the teachers instructional plans and to assist with the daily management of students and the classroom.
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Strong proponent of classroom inclusion for all learning abilities
- Comfortable providing in-class support to the teacher and students
- Able to collaborate with general education and special education teachers
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Experience as an instructional assistant or similar role preferred
- Experience working with children with a wide range of abilities
- A desire to help students grow in faith knowledge and service
