Job Description
POSITION TITLE:Assistant CoachSoftball Pitching & HittingSTART DATE:Open Until Filled
CAMPUS/DEPARTMENT:Ranger College/Athletics
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:Consultant to the Softball Team for pitching and hitting with all aspects of coaching and help to manage the Ranger College Softball Program. Help recruit an assigned number of student athletes. Participate in academic advising and registration. Assist with divisional duties including but not limited to program planning budgeting scheduling and facility maintenance. This position may also include Dorm Directory duties. Other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Softball coaching experience at community college level or higher preferred
- Pitching coach experience.
- Experience recruiting highly skilled softball student athletes
- Understand student athletes welfare
- Maintain discipline and adherence to Ranger College policies and procedures
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills required
- Able to work in a fastpaced busy studentoriented setting
- Selfmotivated and able to work independently and under pressure
- Able to initiate and complete tasks within demanding time limits
ANNUAL SALARY/BENEFITS:Highly competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials. Group health and life insurance 60 day waiting period for health) and retirement benefits (TRS or ORP). Optional benefits include disability and dental insurance.
