Make an impact at Serco

As a Senior Contracts Officer in our Defence and Maritime team based in Sydney youll help deliver critical services to the Australian Government. This role supports the Contracts Specialist Maritime and engages closely with operations and engineering teams to manage complex contract deliverables ensure compliance and contribute to commercial and growth strategies. Youll play a key part in strengthening our customer relationships and ensuring efficient contract operations.

As a Senior Contracts Officer in the Defence and Maritime team youll make a positive impact by:

  • Supporting contract and subcontract management to ensure compliance
  • Interpreting and advising on contract terms for internal stakeholders
  • Drafting and negotiating contract change proposals and project documentation
  • Designing process improvements for commercial and contract operations
  • Providing commercial input on proposals deliverables and reporting
  • Managing correspondence systems and financial delegations in line with policy

To be successful in this role youll have:

  • A degree in law business finance or a related field
  • 35 years of contract management or commercial experience
  • Experience in Defence Maritime or engineering sectors (desirable)
  • Strong ability to interpret complex documents and communicate clearly
  • Excellent stakeholder collaboration and problemsolving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to work independently

  • This position carries trust and responsibility. To support this a comprehensive probity assessment including a Federal Police Check is a key part of the selection process for this role.
  • You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain a Baseline Defence Security Clearance
