Job Description
Principal responsibilities
- Lead Authority for Operations process technology with focus on the core areas of ASU CO2 H2 and LNG.
- Support for plant modification projects. Support to include:
- Development of process technology options and scope
- Process design or management of design through 3rd parties where required.
- Equipment specifications
- Identification of suitable suppliers
- Participation in Hazops and Risk Assessments
- Develop & maintain close working relationship with Operations teams based on transparency respect and trust.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety reliability plant efficiency and cost reduction as follows:
- Support plant efficiency reviews to identify and implement improvement opportunities for operational plants in the Region
- Identify and investigate outstanding issues that prevent safe low cost operation and recommend solutions supported by business cases.
- Support regional operations teams in resolving personnel or process safety issues
- Lead root cause analyses and implement findings to prevent reoccurrence of incidents.
- Contribute to the development of and ensure compliance with the operational and engineering standards and procedures used and follow up noncompliance as required.
- Provide engineering support to regional operations teams within RSP
- Leadership in the Engineering Management of Change process to ensure safety within the business.
- Key contributor to the planning and implementation activities for planned site outages
- Develop and maintain effective teamwork and networking with APAC and US COE process personnel. Ensure support available as needed for RSP (Region South Pacific).
Key interfaces in Region South Pacific
- This position is exclusively for Plant Operation Support and not for Engineering of large capital projects.

- 3rd party specialist contractors and suppliers
Required key skills (functional/technical)
- Highly effective communicator at a technical and training level written and spoken
- Competence in process design and modelling
- Competence in HAZOP
- Competence in operational safety systems
- Ability to faultfind operational problems utilising RCA techniques
- Available for travel to RSP as needed to provide operational support typically for periods of 1 weeks or less per journey.
Required qualifications/experience
- Degree in Chemical Engineering required.
- Experience with ASU CO3 H2 or LNG process including H2 electrolysers is highly desirable
- Extensive experience in process engineering including field experience 7 years preferable
- RPEQ qualification / Chartered status will be favourably viewed
