Location: Preferably Ulsteinvik or lesund Norway (Other Nordic locations can be considered)
Start Date: August 2025 (upon agreement)
Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation & Electrical Engineer to join our Thruster Systems business unit. In this role you will play a key part in developing and maintaining advanced control and electrical systems for thruster steering and control applications. Youll collaborate closely with internal teams customers suppliers and classification societies to deliver high-performing and sustainable system solutions.
Design maintain and develop control system documentation and architecture
Develop test and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems
Integrate software and hardware components into functional system solutions
Perform thorough testing and verification to ensure compliance with safety and performance requirements
Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders
Lead and support the resolution of complex technical challenges
Bachelors degree (or higher) in Electrical Automation or Software Engineering
Proven experience in designing electrical and automation systems
Hands-on experience with PLC programming preferably CoDeSys
Experience configuring variable speed drives
Knowledge of fieldbus and industrial Ethernet protocols (e.g. CanOpen Profinet)
Familiarity with EPlan or other ECAD tools (preferred)
Experience in the maritime industry is an advantage
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Independent proactive and solution-oriented
Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
Structured and capable of planning and delivering results
Able to take ownership and responsibility for tasks
Multidisciplinary thinker with a strategic mindset
This role requires onsite presence in Ulsteinvik during key project phases
Travel to other sites and customer locations is expected as part of the role
