- Bachelors Degree required
- MPH or MS in biostatistics and/or other health sciences related field strongly preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of experience required in SAS and analytic programming. Repeated analyses experience and/or research experience in public health pediatrics physical activity obesity and/or disparities desired.
GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The SAS Programmer/Statistician will support several childhood obesity projects in the Division of General Academic Pediatrics. This position will work under the direction of the Division Chief and Project Managers to clean datasets maintain databases and perform statistical analyses. The SAS Programmer/Statistician will also assist with data interpretation synthesizing data for presentation and manuscript preparation. This is a parttime position.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage large datasets including those with repeated measures multiple years of data and thousands of records
- Perform data cleaning and merging of datasets in SAS to prepare for statistical analyses
- Independently provide statistical analyses in SAS for multiple child health and childhood obesity projects including multiple logistic and linear regression and longitudinal analysis
- Create and maintain SAS programming code to manage and clean data and to execute statistical analyses
- Collaborate with Division Chief coinvestigators project managers research fellows and students on analytic objectives
- Advise on study design and statistical strategies
- Assist with preparation of data presentation and interpretation
- Assist with manuscript preparations
- Participate in study team and coinvestigator meetings
- Other duties as assigned

- Organized and detail oriented
- Analytic and intellectual skills to maintain and organize large datasets and run and interpret statistical analyses of the data
- Must be proficient in SAS with prior programming and biostatistical experience
- Must be familiar with repeated measures analyses.
- Work independently be selfdirected and contribute as a member of a team.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
May assist with training in interpreting and learning basic programming and statistics skills
General office environment. Work may also be conducted offsite.
