The team is constantly evolving growing new audiences and building engagement and loyalty with our readers and viewers.

Were looking for a talented highly motivated resourceful individual with a deep knowledge of social media platforms and current affairs to join our award winning team at the heart of the newsroom.

Day to day you will:

• Report into the Head of Social Media.

• Play a key role in the ongoing development and of The Suns social media strategy including the transformation of our video distribution strategy.

• Contribute to The Suns adoption of emerging social platforms and tools and take responsibility for the growth of The Suns new social channels.

• Coordinate video content delivery across our social channels such as YouTubeTiktok Facebook Snapchat X Instagram amongst others.

• Writing headlines creating thumbnails and contributing to social media output in regards to both video and website content

• Curate content from across Sun Online to satisfy a diverse range of audience demographics.

• Edit and maintain The Suns social media channels to a high standard in close conjunction with the rest of the team.

• Take leadership of a shift in the absence of the Head and Deputy Head including attending conferences and providing social guidance to senior management

• Focus on targets and be clear on what is required in order to meet them including reporting on various aspects to better inform the team.

• Work flexibly including evening and weekend shifts.

What we are looking for from you:

• Deep knowledge of social media platforms news and current affairs

• Unflappable under pressure and delivers work at a consistently high standard

• Proactive and displays a willingness to take on any task

• Positive attitude and good team player

• Takes initiative in order to achieve desired results

• Selfstarter organised and a good problemsolver able to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches

• Can demonstrate an understanding of the The Sun brand both print and digital

• Experience of working with web Content Management Systems Facebook Creator Studio or Snapchat Story Studio knowledge would be very beneficial though not essential.

• Video editing experience a plus but not essential
