What youd be doing in this role

This year the Content Management & Distribution group is on a mission to launch the AI Powered Canva DAM a Digital Asset Management product built for our users in the Canva way. We will transform the visual experience for DAM users across Marketing and Sales through AI capabilities that redefine the product space. The Canva DAM is a critical company goal projecting high ARR and delivering to closed beta in October 2025 with a full GA at Create 2026.

We have a unique opportunity for a Machine Learning Engineer to join this goal and help our teams deliver a suite of new AI Powered features.

What youll do

• Play a leading role in designing and prototyping new AI features that back Canva content management designing and implement the most intricate aspects of the system showcasing your aptitude for tackling complex technical challenges effectively.

• Propose innovative approaches and solutions to future-proof Canvas product decision platforms and deliver on business outcomes.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers in the Content Management & Distribution group skilling them up in AI skills and helping them navigate technical challenges.

• Guide the implementation of major projects planning task breakdown and keeping engineers in sync using excellent verbal and written communication skills including architectural diagrams.

• Have a widespread impact across the organization by facilitating and orchestrating cross-team initiatives that set a higher standard for reliability velocity and security.

• Advocate for best practices that enhance our groups performance and reliability.

Youre probably a good match if

• Youve applied machine learning to automate complex review processes especially involving code UI or compliance

• Youre skilled in computer vision and screen analysis and know how to extract insights from UI layouts

• You have experience using Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance automation and intelligent systems

• You know how to build recommendation systems that proactively assist developers

• Youre proficient in Python and ML frameworks like PyTorch TensorFlow or scikit-learn

• You thrive in cross-functional teams and enjoy collaborating with engineers UX designers and PMs

• You love solving real-world challenges by reducing friction and creating smart workflows through the use of AI
