Position Overview:

As the Child Care Coordinator you will play a vital role in providing support to the Child Care Casual Educator team within Hamilton Burlington and Brantford. Reporting to the Early Learning and Child Care Supervisor you will assist with recruiting onboarding scheduling and training Casual Educators. Your efforts will ensure service excellence within the Child Care department by adhering to Program guidelines set out by the Ministry of Education and YMCA standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a child care champion with strong relationshipbuilding and communication skills to drive positive change and make a meaningful impact within the YMCA of HamiltonBurlingtonBrantford.

What Youll Do:

  • Administrative Support & Communication: Responsible for supporting administrative tasks related to Casual Educators with navigating online platforms (UKG Shiftmatch Microsoft etc.. Ensure staff input their availability and meet the requirements of their position following up if required. Develop and maintain relationships with YMCA colleagues and staff. Ensure accurate records are maintained for each casual staff.
  • Recruitment Onboarding and Training: Support recruitment and onboarding processes for Casual Educator team including new staff training. Assist with interviews follow up on missing paperwork (e.g. VSC CPR Health Assessment) schedule staff for virtual or inperson training and facilitate training on online platform navigation.
  • Operational Support: Support Casual Educator team by ensuring compliance with Ministry and YMCA standards policies and procedures in the absence of the Supervisor. Conduct regular program visits to observe casual staff in action without directly participating.

What Youll Bring:

  • Postsecondary education in Early Childhood Education Child and Youth Studies or a related field.
  • At least one 1 year of experience in a licensed child care setting. Management or business administration courses are an asset.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPRLevel C.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills influence and motivate others.
  • Time management skills to plan organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office email and internet applications.
  • Flexibility and problemsolving skills.
  • Access to reliable mode of transportation.

A Major Asset If:

  • You have worked in nonprofit charity or public sector organizations.
  • You have experience interacting with diverse individuals.
  • You have additional certifications in Administration are an asset.
