You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailJOB DESCRIPTION Test & Commissioning Engineer Position Summary :
The person joining the team will be working on the Network and Video Surveillance systems. The system is a large distributed system built on internal supervision & control technology interfacing with various MRT facilities. In the course of your work you will learn and appreciate the system engineering methodologies used in the transport (in particular MRT) domain. You will help with the automation of our engineering process to enhance the integrity of the system. Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
Test and commission railway Projects related to COMMs in particular Video Surveillance systems Witness or perform specific tests on the system to verify compliance and functionality
Prepare and update the Method Statements testing procedure documentation and configurations.
Lead / Participate in the onsite activities including system installation system configuration preonsite test activities
Participate and coordinate onsite test and commissioning activities with customers as witnesses
Ensure defects identification and correction (Troubleshoot and create tools to resolve incidents)
In the event of a nonconformity observed during the commissioning phase report the defect description and associate test context with the design / engineering teams
Ensure proper followup of detected issues and deliver the commissioning reports
Check the test tools are in perfect working order and calibrated
Support IVVQ (Verification & Validation) team and perform test in lab as per request
Deliver the committed performance in terms of Quality Costs and Deadlines while complaint to local standards and regulations (including HSE and Railway Safety)
Efficiency and proactivity during the of the T&C tests is expected. The person should also be proactive in helping the team in any other areas within the scope of system development life cycle.
Strive to improve the stability security efficiency and availability of systems by applying software engineering practices and by implementing application monitors and alerts
Ensure full compliance with site safety and HSE (Health Safety and Environment) regulations and ensure that all team members adhere to these rules. Remain vigilant to identify and address any potential safety hazards on site.
Providing comprehensive support to the T&C Manager by delivering all necessary inputs data schedule plan issue list KPI reports etc. to ensure effective communication management with both internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
Diploma / ITE in Electronics Electrical /Computer or related Engineering
Willing to work in night shifts and weekends
Ability to read electrical schematics and make corrections when necessary
Previous experience in Testing & Commissioning of large rail infrastructure projects
Proficiency in Linux operating system internals and network concepts.
Experience developing tools using the scripting language such as Python
Ability to learn new technologies in complex operational control systems.
Systematic problemsolving approach coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive
