Job Description
Role Summary:
The Project Engineering team is responsible for project engineering of the project with effective cross function coordination. This team will execute directly the mechanical & piping designs of W & WW
treatment plants desalination and ZLD systems with advanced technologies. In this role the Lead Project Engineer will deal the South Asia projects to carryout basic & detailed mechanical Civil
Structural design & Equipment engg. Piping Pipe support engineering and detailing ensuring quality schedule & budget targets. He/she shall communicate proactively so that the project risks are Mitigated.
Essential Responsibilities:
To execute challenging projects seamlessly interface with cross functional team & global stakeholders towards successful completion of projects on time with quality.
Provide technical leadership to assigned team members and mentor.
Implement Veolia tools (viz. SAP Workflows etc. technical excellence quality consistent reviews(Etable reviews) ontime delivery of designs /documents. Lessons learning and
problem solving by his/her experience effectively.
Generate ideas to simplify / optimize equipment & system designs develop procedures and execute objectives for self & team members.
Implementation of ISO9001 in the discipline with proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Inline with overall project planning develop project master document list with effective planning for Engineering deliverables and Mechanical & Piping components procurement etc. and monitor its status
Emphasis to improve OnTimeDelivery (productivity) efficiency & optimization through standardization etc. and update summary on mechanical engineering status to the team leads at regular intervals.
Coordinate with external civil design agencies for developing civil/structural designs as required for the specific project. Evaluates / Review the civil design & drawings output for its adequacy and intended application.
Resource planning considering the project pipeline etc.
Accountable for timely design approvals from customer & consultants
Engineer systems in compliance with engineering principlescustomer specifications contractual requirements and applicable codes.
Upgrade knowledge on various Veolia technologies & network with its technical leads globally.
Technically guide the team and independently carryout Basic & Detail Engineering drawing/documents using sound engineering principles adhering to business Standards
Practices Procedures and product/program requirements as below.
Perform P&IDs Plant layout GAD static & rotating eqpt. Selection fabrication Drawings detail drawing of piping with necessary analysis etc.
Perform required calculations to size and specify equipment including (but not limited to) plant hydraulics piping chemical feed systems vessels/tanks pumps filters/strainers mixers blowers compressed air and chemical feed systems.
Work with procurement to specify evaluate bids and approve vendor documentation for rotating equipment & static equipment (eg. HX crystallizer etc. heat exchangers chemical feed equipment major subsystems minor equipment and piping components.
Prepare fluid schedule piping material specs pipe service matrix equipment list Valves (Auto/Manual/control etc. etc.as required.
Provide technical support to activities involved in the specification procurement fabrication installation and operation of specified project related equipment and designs.
Ensure that all discipline engineering designs bills of material and technical data are complete and accurate by reviewing associated engineering drawings & SAP system entries etc.
Meet Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for project and documentation including implementation Engineering change management system and etable reviews(viz. Process Designs HAZOP IFC Piping model).
Timely Interface with cross functions (including teams from sales proposal installation & commissioning) to ensure accurate and timely information transfer and issue identification and resolution.
Key Deliverables:
Support Sales & Proposal teams with the knowledge & expertise to win the projects as necessary.
Focus continuously on objectives viz. Value Engineering Lessons learned Cost incurred due to miss in Engineering phase etc.Site visits and customer meetings for project technical requirements.
Knowledge of STAAD Pro ANSYS AutoPIPE are essential.
Knowledge of CAESAR II would be an added advantage.
Institute lessons learned & process improvements.
Familiarity with USGS seismic maps & contour plans etc.
Experienced with applicable National / International codes (UBC
ISO ASME ASTM DIN CSA Indian Standards).
Hands on experience in engineering & analysis in large MNCs and
Engineering Consultants Quality work is completed meeting the requirements of
the project and to the satisfaction of the customer. Schedule activities are completed in the allotted timeframe.
Efficiency activities are completed within budget and improving through standardisation
Desired:
Diverse technology knowledge with hands on experience in advance membrane systems apart from conventional based treatment systems Ionexchange ZLD etc. and basicunderstanding of water chemistry.
Design and detailing of Pressure vessels heat exchangers tanks piping system pipe supports pipe support structures steel & RC structures preparation / review of detailed
fabrication drawings QAPs layouts vendor document review.
Exposure towards designs related to ZLD systemsRO Skids pump skid designs is an added advantage.
Experience in handling design consultants both Govt and Pvt.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or other related technical discipline.
12 years of experience in water & wastewater treatment RO systems Desalination and ZLD designs is preferable.
Knowledge on 3D plant modeling softwares like Plant 3D Bentley Plant Space TEKLA other PDS or PDMS Softwares
