Job Description
Were hiring a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver precision mechanical solutions as part of a high-profile defence and marine programme. Youll work across complex systems requiring structural integrity thermal performance and long-term reliability.
Youll be responsible for 3D modelling simulation and optimisation of components used in safety- and mission-critical systems collaborating across teams to ensure design excellence in highly regulated environments.
What youll be doing
- Creating detailed 3D models using SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor
- Running advanced simulations with ANSYS (structural thermal fluid dynamics)
- Performing tolerance analysis and mechanical verification
- Supporting manufacturing and integration teams with design outputs
- Participating in technical reviews and system-level design validation
- Ensuring compliance with defence design standards and client expectations
Qualifications :
What were looking for
- 10 years experience in mechanical design engineering
- Proficient in SolidWorks and Inventor for CAD
- Skilled in using ANSYS for structural thermal and flow simulation
- Background in complex mechanical design within defence marine or aerospace
- Strong understanding of real-world mechanical performance and optimisation
- Must be eligible for SC clearance UKEO SC or past defence projects preferred
