Job Description

Athletic Director

12 month position

Eastern Montgomery High School

School Year

The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for a fulltime 12month Athletic Director position that is available at Eastern Montgomery High School for the school year.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To lead develop and oversee a comprehensive high school athletic program that fosters student growth school spirit and community engagement while promoting sportsmanship teamwork and personal development.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in a secondary subject area
  • Possess the ability to oversee the overall operation of the schools Athletic Program
  • Have experience as a head coach in high school sports
  • Demonstrate ability to organize multiple events
  • Communicate engage and work effectively with students parents and coaches
  • Be available to work evenings and weekends
  • Knowledge of VHSL programs activities policies and procedures
  • Possess the ability to work with district regional and state organizations
  • Possess the ability to work with Officials Organizations
  • Skilled in overseeing the maintenance care and upkeep of all athletic fields and facilities
  • Demonstrate dependability punctuality and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous athletic director experience
  • Hold or be eligible for a Virginia license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision PreK12

FLSA: Exempt

SALARY: $60086.71 $98391.87 annually with benefits; commensurate with experience (current salary scale may change due to budget considerations)
