Job Description

**This role can be filled in The Woodlands TX; New Orleans LA; or Hammond LA. **

Job Summary/Purpose:

Miscellaneous Receivables (MAR) team is responsible for the tracking and administering of billings and related paymentsthat are other than those for the Entergy Utility business or Utility Customers. This includes receivables for Contract agreements such asFacility Studies Generator Interconnection Agreement EJO Fixed Billings as well as CoOwned contracts to name a few.This position supports a manager and/or departmental peers by performing accounting related activities; applying accounting standards and principlesto financial transactions policy interpretation and application; of business processes and associated controls. This position also plays akey role in project and process improvement initiatives.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs assignments requiring understanding and application of accounting principles practices and concepts (i.e. preparation of journalentries account reconciliations computations analysis etc.
  • Use of PeopleSoft and PowerPlan technology to perform accounting duties
  • Perform financial statement results analysis for accounts within area of responsibility
  • Accepts ownership of business processes and associated controls.
  • Significant interface with internal and external customers including functional business unit representatives auditors etc
  • Applies analytical and problemsolving skills to accounting issues.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities.
  • Performs testing of controls to support Sarbanes Oxley compliance

Minimum education required of this position:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of this position:

6 years experience in accounting

Minimum knowledge skills and abilities required for this position:

  • Utility accounting experience and working knowledge of the FERC uniform system of accounts desired
  • Working knowledge of Entergys financial/accounting processes a plus.
  • Technical systemsbased capabilities and understanding desired.
  • Display strong analytical skills by using knowledge of tools and business processes to identify problems and resolve issues.
  • Ability to work effectively either independently or in a team environment.

Any certificates licenses etc. required for this position:

Desired: Professional Certifications such as CPA or making progress toward CPA.
