Help us help others:
Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) of Cooccurring Psychiatric and Substance Use Disorder (COPSD).The LCDC is responsible for providing services and supports to individuals with cooccurringneeds to assist the individual in reaching their vision of recovery. The LCDC will assess the individuals strength andneeds and in collaboration with the individual develop a personcentered recovery plan. Services are targeted to deterthe need for crisis that result in emergency placement in Medical or Behavioral Health Facilities or in the Court and Jailsystem.The LCDC is responsible for scheduling and carrying out individual and groupservices and case management. LCDC may also provide services as an Outpatient Counselor under the guidelinesdescribed in the DSHS/HHSC Program Requirements.
You will get to:
- Ensure that everyone admitted to outpatient servicesis appropriate and has written justification to support the admission.
- Ensure treatment includes individual treatmentplanning based on a comprehensive assessment educational and process groups and individual counseling. Servicesare provided in a licensed facility.
- Ensure that clients are referred for Recovery Support Services (Recovery CheckupsLife Skills Classes and Recovery Coaching) as needed.
- Completescreenings assessments and treatment planning and engage clients in ongoing treatment
- Utilize peers as much aspossible in supporting and coaching clients in their recovery.
- Ensure that treatment plans are person directed andinclude strategies for recovery.
Qualifications
Youll definitely need:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited four 4 year university in social behavioral or human services or another qualified program.
- Must have a current Texas state issued LCDC License or be positioned to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
- At least two years of experience in the Mental Health and Substance Abuse field
- A valid Texas State Drivers License.
- Current automobile insurance and the ability to travel when necessary.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and encourage others
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Comfortable working with technology and can easily navigate new technology platforms
- Efficiently move through a todo list and effectively prioritize and triage competing demands
- Passion for connecting individuals and families with excellent care
- Can successfully work remote
- Sustain a calm demeanor when under pressure to handle sometimes difficult situations.
- Provide exemplary customer service and care to your team.
- Work autonomously to complete assignments.
- Work cooperatively with others and be punctual and consistent in attendance because your people will rely on you!
