Kleinfelder is seeking a Geotechnical Transportation Project Manager with experience in Alternative Delivery methods for interstate and highway roadway projects to be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team in our Salt Lake City Utah office.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on major transportation projects and mentor our team of Geotechnical/Civil engineers and other professionals. This is an opportunity for a talented individual who is inspired to promote and support the growth of our Transportation Market within our well established and growing firm. Candidates should have a minimum of 15 plus years experience in civil engineering and 10 plus years of experience with Alternative Delivery Projects (DesignBuild Progressive DesignBuild and CM/GC). This candidate will work with a team of professionals with varied engineering backgrounds who collaborate to deliver a wide range of projects for highpriority clients in Utah and the surrounding States on dynamic infrastructure and transportation projects.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage all phases of project including project organization subconsultants management scheduling financial management health and safety stewardship and reporting.
  • Mentor and engage with staff
  • Lead and participate in technical cost and scheduling decisions for interdisciplinary teams ensuring company quality standards and driving client value
  • Collaborate and manage with structural/bridge environmental civil design survey traffic professionals and other designers to complete project deliverables
  • Lead and participate in technical cost and scheduling decisions for interdisciplinary teams ensuring company quality standards and driving customer value
  • Oversee pursuits designate the appropriate resources to projects define client needs address client concerns and manage engineering resources within budget

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Project experience in leading multidisciplinary design and construction monitoring/instrumentation projects in the Transportation Market
  • Alternative Delivery management experience
  • Experience with detailed civil and geotechnical design for State Departments of Transportation and municipalities.
  • Ability to assess and resolve issues and conflicts internally and externally.
  • Follow internal and project specific quality control and risk management protocols
  • Work well managing virtual teams and willingly works with the appropriate resources regardless of location
  • Work with national inhouse group of civil and geotechnical engineers to support the growth in cutting edge innovation learning work sharing and resourcing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • 15 years experience in the design and preparation of engineering recommendations for Interstate and Highway projects
  • 10 years experience in Alternative Delivery projects with State Departments of Transportation and municipalities
  • A passion to meet client objectives and goals technical challenges and mentoring other design professionals
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in UT
  • Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fastpaced environment
  • Understand and be familiar with AASHTO and the Utah Department of Transportation Design Guidelines and Standard
