Job Description:

Madison Colleges Dean of Students Office (DOSO) is seeking a Senior Student Affairs Case Manager to lead coordinate and manage various highly confidential responsibilities activities and projects. This role requires independent judgment and discretion while supporting the core functions of the Dean of Students Office (DOSO) including Student Concerns & Complaints Student Conduct Harassment/Discrimination Title IX & Sexual Misconduct Behavioral Intervention and Prevention/Awareness Programming and Training.

This position plays a key role in supporting DOSO programming that fosters student success retention and completion. Senior Student Affairs Case Manager assists with departmental goal setting retrieving organizing and analyzing data for reporting and unit planning and identifying holistic student and business needs. The role also involves making and implementing recommendations that positively impact students the department and the college community. Additionally the Case Manager will assist with onboarding training coaching and assigning tasks to department staff including student employees.

Providing culturally responsive student services the Senior Student Affairs Case Manager will address the complex academic social emotional cognitive and behavioral health needs of students and facilitate referrals to college and communitybased programs. This role will also serve as a functional expert and consultant for assigned schools departments and college employees including staff faculty and managers.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational computer and conflict management skills the ability to work independently and the capacity to engage effectively with a diverse internal and external college community. Maintaining strict confidentiality and handling sensitive information with tact and diplomacy are essential.

This position reports to the Dean of Students Office leadership currently the Manager of DOSO and Disability Resource Services (DRS).

This is a yearround 52week) position with standard business hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am 4:30pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required but is not typical. This position has the option to perform work remotely with the expectation for in office work three 3 days a week. Subject to change per Madison College policy.

Essential Responsibilities:

Leadership and Coordination:

  • Serves as a lead in coordinating scheduling and directing some work of department staff Dean of Students Office events workshops and activities; Fosters a healthy and inclusive team and office environment.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with School Deans Associate Deans other management staff and faculty to address studentrelated issues concerns and complaints.
  • Utilizes retention conduct and complaint data to recommend prevention/awareness activities interventions and support services.

Assessment Intervention Counsel and Case Management:

  • Assesses and responds to complex student concerns and complaints against a college system process department or employee by analyzing and prioritizing cases issuing interim actions consulting counseling and providing recommendations to the Dean of Students or designee.
  • Provides comprehensive assessments case planning and management of an array of student issues and concerns informed by evidencebased practices
  • Assists in responding to acute mental health emergencies and crisis situations; Conducts student risk assessments (harm towards self or others) under supervision.
  • Counsels and consults with college community members (students and college employees) regarding multifaceted student concerns such as interpersonal conflicts crises behavioral and mental health concerns; Takes appropriate action to resolve issues with students faculty and staff.
  • Serves on the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) and Title IX coordination team; engages in behaviorally based assessments of students to identify and mitigate barriers to personal and academic success recommends options to best address student behavioral concerns; assists in the development and maintenance of reporting protocols and processes to proactively identify and engage in early intervention in support of student success.
  • Provides solutionfocus direct services to address a wide range of inter/intrapersonal social emotional psychological behavioral health and developmental needs of Madison Colleges diverse student population.

Student Conduct and Civil Rights Investigation and Adjudication:

  • Counsels students and college employees regarding Student Code of Conduct issues formal and informal conflict resolution strategies and judiciary affairs.
  • Conducts investigations into charges of student misconduct (e.g. Student Conduct Code Title IX Discrimination); creates an investigative plan conducts interviews with involved parties makes credibility assessments prepares and presents summaries of investigations and appropriate supporting documents and communicates with the parties while protecting the neutrality integrity and privacy of the investigation. Acts as an impartial and unbiased party in the investigation and provides detailed reports summarizing the investigation.
  • Serves on formal student conduct administrative decisionmaking body and Civil Rights Advisor.

Education Programming and Communications:

  • Develops and facilitates activities that support the DOSO core functions including Student Concerns & Complaints Behavioral Intervention Student Conduct Harassment/Discrimination Title IX & Sexual Misconduct and Prevention/Awareness programming and training.
  • Develops and facilitates compliancerelated training for the college community in the areas of Title IX regulations Clery Act State higher education laws drugfree schools sexual harassment equity and cultural awareness.
  • Develops and delivers education and training for faculty staff and students to showcase DOSO resources such as information about health wellness and safety procedures/activities; promotes a positive campus culture/climate and encourages personal responsibility and awareness of the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Develops and maintains website and intranet content.

Policy Procedure and Process Improvement:

  • Assists in creating and maintaining policies procedures and protocols.
  • Participates in the development and of annual strategic plan objectives.
  • Manages and updates Maxient system configurations. Maintains official conduct records in accordance with institutional policy and relevant laws utilizing the Maxient Network.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree with emphasis in Student Affairs Counseling Social Work Psychology or related field or equivalent working experience. *Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required by the position.
  • Five 5 years of professional experience directly related to Student Affairs/Student Services with two 2 years working in Dean of Students Office Conduct Behavior Intervention Student Housing or related department.
