Job Description

Desirable Qualifications
Extent of teaching experience; Extent of related work and professional experience; Extent of training and practical experience in all aspects of HVAC /R and Environmental Controls; Evidence of the ability to involve students in practical applications of instruction as it is related to the industry; Extent of experience working with students of various ages cultural economic and education backgrounds; Extent of knowledge and experience in the development and assessment of professional growth; Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; Strong computer skills; Membership in professional HVAC /R organizations; The extent of additional licenses and/or certifications including: EPA Section 608 Type 1 & 2 California Licensed Contractor C20 and/or C38; North American Technician Excellence NATE Certification in the following areas: Air Conditioning Heat Pumps Gas Furnace Air Distribution; Earned refrigeration Service Engineers Society RSES status by passing the: Certificate Member Exam (CM) and/or a Certificate Member Specialist Exam(s) CMS ; Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association RETA ; Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator CARO and/or Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator CIRO ; To a lesser extent Air Conditioning Heating and Refrigeration Institute ARI Industry Competency Exam ICE and/or ESCO entrylevel technician examinations passed; Recent experience working with African American Latinx Native American and other racially minoritized students in the classroom and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusions of these groups in higher education shape patterns of participation and outcomes; Willingness to examine and remediate ones instructional relational and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support racially minoritized students; Experience and skill with addressing issues of equity in the classroom; Potential for contribution to institutional vitality and growth; and Knowledge of the community college and its missions and goals.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelors degree AND two years of directly related professional experience; OR An associate degree AND six years of directly related professional experience; OR A valid California Community College credential; OR The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency). In addition all applicants must have a valid California drivers license. All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students as these factors relate to the need of equityminded practices within the classroom.
