Job Duties
The Southern Virginia Higher Education Center is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Healthcare Instructor. The Southern Virginia Higher Education Center provides access to higher education workforce training and programming innovative industry services and technologically advanced stateoftheart facilities and learning labs that includes comprehensive fiscal management operational and supportive services community outreach and engagement and extensive collaborations. These components work together to support the organizations mission of advancing Southern Virginias economic potential through education innovation and collaboration. The purpose of the Healthcare Training Hub Healthcare Instructor position is to provide instruction of healthcare training in a variety of healthcare disciplines. This position has responsibility in educating learners through didactics hands on application skills and simulation training.
Minimum Qualifications
Extensive work experience as a licensed registered nurse. Extensive experience as an instructor trainer preceptor or facilitator. Considerable experience in various healthcare settings. Must be able to help develop programs and curricula to meet healthcare industry needs. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills. Excellent time management skills including proven ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel. Foundational knowledge of simulation learning environments. Must be able to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Bachelors degree in Nursing. Hold an unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse or a multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia. Must be certified in Basic Life Support (CPR/AED/First Aid).
Additional Considerations
Classroom teaching experience at the registered nurse level. Supervision of students in clinical training. Experience in teaching environment. Clinical Medical Assistant certification. American Heart Association instructor certification in Basic Life Support(BLS)/Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator.
