Job Description

Substitute Bus Assistant

Hourly Rate $13.72

Required:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Educational Aide permit
  3. Physical ability to lift students
  4. Honesty
  5. Cooperate and get along with others
  6. Work as a member of a team

Desirable:

  1. Ability to take directions
  2. Previous successful experience with school age children

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of a Bus Assistant include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Assists the bus driver to provide a positive and safe atmosphere on the bus
  2. Assists students on and off the bus
  3. Accompanies students to and from the bus
  4. Assigns students seats if necessary and/or required
  5. Understands and maintains the academic and behavioral standards set for the students by the bus driver and/or Supervisor of Transportation
  6. Operates wheelchair lift as needed
  7. Performs other duties as assigned
