The Department of Event Management Dining and Hospitality is one of 13 departments within the Division of Student Affairs. It provides the campus community and guests with highquality efficient and innovative event services and dining options in a variety of settings dedicated to accentuating and enhancing the campus experience in a diverse community.
These extra help positions include: kitchen laborers cooks and cook assistants.
This position is an integral part of our dining operations staff. Led by experienced culinary professionals we offer staff the opportunity to work in newlyrenovated facilities and are committed to using quality ingredients and processes. These positions play an integral role by utilizing the individuals food service talents to provide sanitation baking and/or culinary support.

$14.86 $17.96/hour
1. High School diploma or equivalency
2. Previous food service experience preferred but not required.
3. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work independently
4. Good communication skills
5. Good customer service skills
6. Ability to work in a team environment
7. Food Service Sanitation Certificate is beneficial but not required.
Shift and days off will vary up to 28 hours per week
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
This position requires standing walking use of fingers and hands reaching lifting kneeling stooping crouching talking hearing speaking and seeing. Ability to stand for an extended period of time without a significant rest period. The employee must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement with Illinois State University. However Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the Universitys supplemental retirement savings plans 403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
