Job Summary


The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing payroll responding to employee inquiries and ensuring compliance with payroll laws and company policies. This role requires strong attention to detail confidentiality and a solid understanding of payroll procedures.


Main Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees.
  • Maintain payroll records including timekeeping deductions and benefits.
  • Verify employee hours wages and tax withholdings.
  • Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal state and local payroll regulations.
  • Coordinate with HR and accounting teams to update employee records.
  • Support yearend payroll processing including W2 and tax filings.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field preferred).
  • Knowledge of payroll laws tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with payroll software (e.g. ADP Paylocity QuickBooks or similar).
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools.
  • Excellent communication and problemsolving skills.
