Job Description
Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose California building an allelectric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing manufacturing and operating an allelectric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

What we are looking for:
We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join the software team at Archer. The role consists in designing developing and testing safety critical software for Archers fault tolerant flight controls system.

What youll do:
- Develop safety critical software components for Archers flight control system.
- Participate in planning design scheduling prioritizing and tracking the project.
- Work with system engineers to decompose item requirements into high level and low level software requirements in compliance with DO178C.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to develop and integrate the complex hardware/software flight control system.
- Development of software plans processes & guidelines
- Software requirements decomposition analysis definition and traceability
- Software design and development performance risk safety operation and cost optimization trade studies and lead / conduct design reviews
- Software analyses requirementsbased testing and structural coverage analysis
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes to increase safety and efficiency.
What you need:
- 5 years of experience in a flight control software or a related field
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science or related degree
- Proficiency with C/C
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
- Fluency with widely used scripting languages like bash and Python
- Experience developing software complying with safety standards like DO178C to high criticality levels (DALA/B)
- Understanding of communication standards and protocols (RS422/485 CAN ARINC429 AFDX Ethernet TCP/IP etc.
- Familiarity with debuggers and lab instruments such oscilloscopes and bus analyzers
- Experience with Model Based Software development and certification (DO331
Bonus qualifications
- Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog development
- Familiarity with modeling tools like UML or SysML
- Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and multithreading
- Experience in Linux
- Experience with DO254
- Experience with tools qualification (DO330

Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as jobrelated knowledge skills and experience.
