Job Description
Citrus County Sheriffs Office
Starting Pay Rate: $26.27/HR (Minimum) $34.41/HR (Maximum)
General Description: Regular fulltime position working 8 or 12hour shifts rotating days and nights. May be tasked with other duties as required. Must be available nights weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions (will vary depending upon certification class):
- Serveswarrants.
- Conductslocal warrants and injunction checks.
- Signssurety bonds.
- Initiates probable cause arrests.
- Serves subpoenas.
- Answers incoming calls.
- Handles felon and sexual offender registrations.
- Transports prisoners.
- Fingerprintsand takes photosof inmates.
- All Citrus County Sheriffs Officeemployees are considered essential workers and are subject to working in any capacity/hours deemed necessary by the Agency during activations including but not limited to inCounty and outofCounty deployments.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communications.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be familiar with computer programs the agency requires.
Education Experience and Qualifications:
- Must be Florida State Law Enforcement and/or Corrections Certified.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Possession of valid drivers license required.
- Must have good computer and typing skills.
Physical Demands:
- Meet the physical requirement minimums for all sworn positions.
- Position requires prolonged sitting standing walking reaching twisting and turning kneeling bending squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities.
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- The position requires grasping repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard.
- Position requires near and far vision in reading.
- Acute hearing is required.
Requirements:
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
- Valid Florida Drivers License required.
