Job Description

Summary

King County Metro Talent Acquisitionteam seeks one fulltime Special Duty Assignment (SDA) Talent Advisorcommitted to diversity and social justice and who is excited to source and recruit for the best large transit agency in North America.

This recruitment is open to all current King County employeeswho have completed the probationary period in their current career service position. This fully benefited temporary positions will be for six months as Special Duty Assignment (SDA) with the possibility of extension. This recruitment may be used to fill Special Duty Assignment (SDA) vacancies in this classification for up to six months.

Job Duties


As a Talent Advisor you will:

  • Solveproblems and influence outcomes both with your customers and within talent acquisition.
  • Create legendary candidate experiences and be known and recognized for that.
  • Be Innovative in sourcing and assessment strategies for our organization.
  • Be Knowledgeablein Federal State and County laws policies and practices that affect Human Resources.
  • Be Agile and able to adjust to changes in needs from our customers and to find ways to fulfill those needs.

You will accomplish this by:

  • Managing and performing full cycle recruitment processes for Trades Professional and Technical Executive Level Support and hardtofill positions. Working collaboratively with leadership hiring managers and other human resources staff.
  • Engaging with and sourcing applicants through online social media community contacts and networking events. Creating systems to build a pipeline of diverse competitive talent.
  • Promoting King County as an Employer of Choice. Generate diverse applicant pools in support of Equity and Social Justice Goals.
  • Developing and administering meritbased selection materials including recruitment plans and timelines job announcements jobrelated tests and exams interview questions and related rating criteria. Metro uses competencybased recruiting methods and behavioralbased interview questions.
  • Establishing priorities for managing your own work and stay on a focused efficient path toward achieving results while optimizing the recruitment processes by contributing innovative ideas and recommending efficiencies. We project manage each recruitment to drive results.
  • Establishing relationships with both hiring managers and candidates to be a trusted advisor delivering outstanding customer service throughout the hiring process.

Work Location

The incumbent will have a hybrid work schedule and may work remotely and onsite. The primary onsite location is King Street Center 201 S. Jackson Street Seattle Washington.

Work Schedule

This hybrid role involves a mix of remote work and onsite responsibilities with an expectation of being in the office for meetings tasks and assignments as needed. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime pay. Work schedule is normally Monday through Friday 40hour work week. Variations may be required depending on the demands and training needs of the work.

Teleworking Requirement

The work associated with this position is currently being performed in a hybrid fashion including teleworking complemented with onsite work and meetings as needed. Frequency of onsite work will vary based on business and operational needs. Employees must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

King County has a robust collection of
tools and resourcesto support working remotely. The individual selected for this opportunity will join an innovative and progressive team that is redefining how we work as we transition to the departments hybrid environment. Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a home workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
