Job Description

Football Equipment Manager
Independence Community College is seeking a Football Equipment Manager to oversee the procurement maintenance distribution and inventory of all footballrelated equipment and apparel. This position plays a critical role in supporting the football program by ensuring that all equipment meets safety standards and is properly maintained for studentathletes and coaching staff.

The Football Equipment Manager is a fulltime 10month position (August May) that reports to the Head Football Coach with a salary of $13000 college housing and meals.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee the purchase inventory maintenance and distribution of football equipment uniforms and apparel.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly fitted maintained and meets NCAA conference and institutional safety standards.
  • Manage the issuing tracking and retrieval of all footballrelated gear.
  • Coordinate equipment transportation and setup for home and away games.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient equipment room and locker room facilities.
  • Manage the laundering and repair of team uniforms and practice gear.
  • Work closely with vendors to purchase and maintain highquality equipment within budget constraints.
  • Assist in developing and managing the equipment budget.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to meet team needs regarding gear and apparel.
  • Train and supervise student managers and equipment staff.
  • Adhere to all institutional conference and NCAA regulations regarding equipment safety and usage.
  • Assist in gameday operations including sideline setup and breakdown.
  • Coordinate with sports medicine staff to ensure proper fitting and safety of protective equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director.

  • Ensure timely communication and collaboration with coaches administrators and vendors.
  • Uphold strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to studentathletes and staff.
  • Work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Associates degree preferred. High School diploma required.
  • Previous experience in athletic equipment management preferably at the collegiate level.
  • Knowledge of NCAA equipment regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to operate and maintain athletic equipment (helmet fitting shoulder pad fitting etc..
  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
  • Ability to lift and transport heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Certification through the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Frequent lifting bending and carrying of equipment.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods during practices and games.
  • Work in indoor and outdoor environments often in varying weather conditions.
  • Travel required for away games and team events.

Independence Community College (ICC)is a twoyear educational institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It was established in 1925 as grades 13 and 14 of the Independencepublic school system. In 1967 Independence Community College legally separated from the school district. Construction of the new community college on a 68 acre campus formerly the Independence Country Club began in 1969. Classes at the new site began in September 1970. ICC campus is now home to the Academic Building Fine Arts Building Student Union Cessna Learning Center Field House Administration BuildingWilliam Inge Center for the Artsfitness center athletic practice fields disc golf course 96bed multistructure living complex and a 200 bedresidence hall.

By renovating a donated building in 2010 we expanded our college to include ICC West 2615 West Main Street). This campus is located on the west side of Independence and is home to our technical programs: Allied Health Cosmetology and GED/ABE.Additional renovations were completed in 2012 to accomodate our newest program Veterinary Technology. This stateoftheart facility includes animal wards a classroom lab surgery pharmacy prep roomsmall animal treatment food prep grooming and radiology.

ICC also maintains presence downtown through the ICC Foundation office and by partnering with the Independence Business Resource Center.

Currently our educational and support programming includes 35programs of studyfor Associates of Arts and/or Science degrees 11programs of study for Certificate completionStudent Support ServicesUpward Bound mens and womens athletic programs and a variety ofcampus organizations and activities.
