Job Description

Lyndon Institute is seeking to hire a part time 504/EST Coordinator to work approximately 18.75 hours per week during the academic school year. This position will report directly to the Dean of Academics and provide the necessary support and guidance to remain in compliance with regulations.Summary:The 504 coordinators responsibilities include ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and other federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities.The 504 coordinator is responsible for coordinating Lyndon Institutes policies and procedures relating to persons with disabilities tracking progress relating to its policies and procedures as well as state and federal laws relating to persons with disabilities filing all necessary reports and providing consultative services to Lyndon Institute administration parents and students.504 Coordinator Responsibilities: Maintains compliant building records and documentation for all eligible students. Ensures the implementation of Section 504 procedures in the building. Coordinates referrals Determines appropriate 504 team composition Facilitates evaluation/eligibility determination Provides notices and consents Develops 504 plans Monitors the implementation of 504 plans Collaborates with 504 eligible students Schedules annual reviews of each 504 student Assures that 504 plans move with the student to the next level or new school Serves as a daily resource to the building administrators teachers parents and community members regarding section 504 issues. Advises the school administrator regarding discipline issues and procedures for Section 504 eligible students being considered for suspension or expulsion. Serves as a liaison between the school building and other District staff regarding Section 504 issues. Attends periodic Section 504 training meetings. Acts as the SSD Coordinator for the College Board tests.EST Coordinator & Assessment Specialist Responsibilities: Assist in the development of an Educational Support Team Development of an EST process Facilitate the EST process including setting up meetings documenting student plans and providing diagnostic assessments Collaborate with faculty administration and parents Use data to develop individual student plansMinimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in education or related field 23 years of experience in the special education field. Teaching experience is a plus. Outstanding communication skills. Ability to communicate with constituents outside agencies and teaching staff Knowledge of current federal and state regulations and procedures governing special education Strong collaboration and team building skills Knowledge and experience with assessment and diagnostic evaluation materials A commitment to professional growth
