Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join our academics team. We are currently in search of a passionate professor for undergraduate level Mathematics Using Math to Inform Your World MAT110 class for the upcoming Summer quarter starting July 7th in a hybrid format. The hybrid format is described as teaching the course in both the inperson and online modalities. This role requires 11 inperson meeting sessions for 2 hours every week held at a predetermined scheduled time (day/evening) at a specific Strayer University Campus. The balance of the course is instructed asynchronously online.

• Teach courses as assigned from a predesigned curriculum and utilize your professional expertise to provide highquality instruction.

• Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum using technology and videos.

• Arrive oncampus at least half an hour prior to the start time of inperson sessions per week during the academic quarter.

• Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience for the online component of the course.

• Be available to students via email phone text and office hours to ensure students receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success.

• Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.

• Adhere to University policies and procedures.

• Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.

Job Skills:

• Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel PowerPoint etc. software and overall computer skills.

• Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.

• Proficiency in oral presentation skills planning and organizing of course objectives.

• Must have strong computer skills (Excel PowerPoint etc..

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Effective time management skills.

Work Experience:

• Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are strongly preferred.

• Academic and or professional experience in data analysis technology or adaptive technology preferred.

• Evidence of academic and or professional experience in organization and mathematical reasoning.

Education: All degrees must be conferred and from an accredited institution to be considered.

• Masters degree in mathematics or applied mathematics or math education or statistics or physics required OR

• Masters degree in any field with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter hours of graduate coursework in mathematics required.

Certificates licenses and registrations:

• Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).

Other:

• Must be able to travel weekly to the required location(s).

• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

• Typical office setting.

• Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.

• Travel via plane car and metro may be required to perform this job.

• Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.

• Access information using a computer.

• Effectively communicate both up and down the management chain.

• Effectively cope with stressful situations.

• Strong mental acuity.

• Regular dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.

Strayer University Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on the number and type of course(s) that are taught in a given quarter. Currently compensation for courses ranges from $2300 $3100.
