Job Description
Completion of a high school education or equivalent. Must be Certified Nursing Assistant with prior experience and have current Massachusetts CNA license; strong communication skills and acute care PCA experience is preferred. Psychiatry experience strongly preferred.
Blake 11 is a twentyfour bed locked psychiatric unit. The unit serves adults ages 18 and older. The inpatient service provides acute psychiatric care diagnostic evaluations and brief inpatient treatment. As a tertiary health care provider Blake 11 accepts patients with diagnostically complex or treatment resistant disorders as well as patients with concomitant medical disease. Patients may be admitted to the unit 24 hours a day seven days a week.The average length of stay is 710 days.
The Patient Care Associate (PCA) will assist the RNs with a variety of functions including taking the patients vital signs EKGs phlebotomy and ADLs.
