Job Description

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree is required.
  • Certification in Human Resources (PHR or SPHR) or ASPR preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of recruiting in general and 3 years physician recruiting is required.
  • Demonstrated strong track record of successful physician recruitment in a competitive environment coupled with retention of those physicians hired.

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • Superb physician relations skills enjoys working with physicians and understands their needs.
  • Strong leadership skills decisiveness and a willingness to act swiftly after considering input from appropriate constituencies.
  • Effective communicator with strong presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills; resultsoriented
  • Ability to deal tactfully and persuasively with a wide variety of constituents both within and external to PHS.

Working Conditions:

  • Fastpaced office environment.
  • Ability to travel by car primarily within Eastern Mass. Position is based in Needham with extensive local travel required.
  • Flexibility to schedule interviews and meetings in the early morning and evenings as needed to enhance recruitment efforts
  • Frequently required to sit talk and hear. Occasionally required to walk stand reach with hands and arms climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl.

General Summary/Overview:

The Manager Physician Recruitment position is part of a newly created and collaborative initiative to develop lead and support Physician Recruitment across the Partners Healthcare System physician organizations.

This position which requires demonstrated and high level experience in physician recruitment is a role for PCPO which will shape and ultimately implement the local practice strategy to recruit physicians of many specialties initially focusing on primary care physicians to staff the growing number of primary care sites across the Partners network. Strategic efforts will begin with Newton Wellesley Hospital (NWH) and its employed ambulatory practices.

This role will engage in a matrix relationship with a primary report to the Vice President of Human Resources for PCPO but working closely with other physician practices and Regional Service Organizations throughout the system as appropriate. This role will be asked to develop a physician recruitment strategy for other Partners institutions but the initial focus will be primary care physician recruitment at NW ambulatory practices.

This position will be closely aligned and integrated with the Network Development function which is emerging as a new function.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess the competitive market for physician recruitment within the New England geographical area.
  • Collaborate with entity leadership Physician leaders and hiring managers on effective strategic and tactical recruitment plans designed to meet business objectives.

  • Develop and deliver an effective recruitment plan to attract and retain qualified and highcaliber candidates.

  • Source candidates utilizing tools such as cold calling database sources Internet social media sources affiliations journals referrals etc.
  • Manage candidates throughout recruiting process including coordinating interview schedules and informationgathering meetings offer presentation negotiations confirming references and credentials relocation contract signing and assisting with onboarding.
