QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree required Masters preferred
35 years financial/analytical work experience preferably in a Health Care.
High level computer skills including Excel Access PowerPoint Word.
GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Under the direction of the Executive Director for OB/Gyn is responsible for financial management analysis and reporting for Department of OB/Gyn activities including long and short term financial planning GH and MGPO operating and capital budgets statistical analysis and reporting development and of physician compensation plans cost analysis and adhoc projects.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Financial Analysis: reports analyzes and monitors financial and productivity measures for MGPO funds the Departments hospital cost centers and certain special funds through the preparation of monthly financial and statistical dashboards and other reports. Resolves issues and discrepancies to the attention of the appropriate person/department to resolve. Supports Department through the preparation of financial analyses and financial models for Department activities including but not limited to MGPO funds and GH cost centers. Makes recommendations to senior leadership to improve reports systems financial position on an ongoing basis.
2. Financial Management: Manages $65M in MGPO and hospital funds. Reviews fund statements to ensure charges and revenues are correct each month. Ensures salary distributions are accurate for all monthly employees. Updates physician salary and other compensation in Peoplesoft as necessary.
3. Physician Compensation Plans: Development five divisional physician compensation plans and produces regular status reports for each physician. Addresses physician questions and resolves discrepancies quickly and independently. Documents all processes and calculations of the compensation plans for accurate record keeping.
4. Revenue enhancement: works collaboratively with the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization (MGPO) and the Hospital to identify legitimate worthwhile opportunities for improving the financial position of both. Understands professional billing and compliance rules to ensure accurate charge and revenue capture.
5. Budgets: responsible for the preparation and management of $65M annual operating budgets for the Departments MGPO funds and hospital cost centers. Develops capital budget for submission to the General Hospital.
6. Projects: manages and supports various projects related to the financial management and operations of the Department.
7. Metrics: Analyzes monitors and reports statistical productivity measures for the MGPO and Hospital practices including but not limited to the use of database manipulation and data validation procedures.
8. Cost Accounting: Develops cost accounting reports to accurately measure costs of certain departmental activities and perform analysis as needed.
Staff Supervision Manages one financial/data analyst.
