ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role

This position is responsible for the endtoend procurement process for all RAI operating companies associated with the sourcing of Indirect materials and services for the following categories (not limited): Logistics Fleet Facilities Utilities Machinery Spare Parts Maintenance Contractors Temporary Workforce and Security Services.

What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization

This includes the sourcing and accountmanagement for the categories within scope with a spend ofapproximately 150 million. The role is responsible forleading all procurement efforts to efficiently and effectively enable indirect spend owners in Operations Manufacturing Machinery Logistics and Fleet to source the goods and services they require to operate as well as to maximize the value they receive from suppliers to meet their functional goals and objectives. In order to achieve this the role is responsible for proactively engaging on an ongoing basis with functional stakeholders in Operations Logistics and Fleet across multiple levels and across all RAI companies in order to capture services and materials requirements influence demand support the companies annual budgeting process and leading a team of buyers.The role is responsible for providing input and supporting RAIs Indirects Senior Director in the definition and deployment of the Indirects procurement strategyfor the categories within scope in collaboration and alignment with the Global Indirects Procurement team and accountable of leading the successful of such strategy in RAI.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Lead the delivery of RAIs Procurement targets in line with US and Global Procurement Strategy (focus on Operations Logistics and Fleet)
  • Close collaboration and communication with Global Procurement teams to provide input for the definition of the Global Categories Strategies for Operations Logistics and Fleet considering US market and RAIs functional business needs
  • Lead the deployment of the Global Categories Strategies for Operations Logistics and Fleet in RAI
  • Lead the demand capture process for Operations Logistics and Fleet categories to identify business requirements and support needed from Procurement in order to define RAIs annual Indirects Plan (Strategy Sourcing and Supplier Management plans)
  • Responsible for strategic spend analysis for Operations Logistics and Fleet Categories as an input for the definition of RAIs Indirect Procurement Strategy and Annual sourcing plan
  • Active participation and support to Operations Logistics and Fleet areas on the annual budgeting process (CoPlan)
  • Develop sourcing plans and other strategic programs that support requirements ensure cost containment and continuous process improvements while balancing the overall best interests of the Company
  • Ensure that the buyersteam under his/her category utilize the appropriate procurement / sourcing strategies procedures and methodologies to achieve the best total cost of ownership consistent with quality specifications and service expectations
  • Participate in negotiations with suppliersand in the decision making process for resolution of problems and issues.
  • Definition and implementation of stakeholder engagement drumbeats in Operations Logistics and Fleet to ensure ongoing communication and collaboration with all functions across all levels of the organization
  • Provide leadership and direction to his/her team to successfully execute Operations Logistics and Fleet Procurement Strategy and Plan to support the areas requirements
  • Define Performance Objectives for his/her team in alignment with overall Procurement function objectives and provide ongoing follow up and feedback
  • Definition and of quality development plans for all employees within his/her team
  • Provides daily leadership and coaching to his/her Team with focus on obtaining functional and strategic Company goals as well as individual performance and development goals
  • Lead the Supplier Management Process for Operations Logistics and Fleet supplier base including supplier segmentation risk assessment performance management plan definition compliance tracking and reporting
  • Maintain strong relationships with Strategic Suppliers in Operations Logistics and Fleet categories Ensures that his/her Team of buyers maintain appropriate supply base and conducts periodic reviews with critical suppliers to ensure performance: Supplier Requirement Documents; Scorecards; Supplier Management & Value Improvement Process Teams; Supplier Audits and Walkthroughs and FDA Relevancy.
  • Support Procurement Policy communication trainingand compliance within Operations Logistics and Fleet categories communities
  • Support theImplementation in RAIs companies the changes in processes and ways of working in alignment with Global Procurement Strategy
  • Support the implementation of programs to ensure compliance with Company EHS polices Company Safety Rules ESG glidepath and regulatory requirements
  • Close collaboration with Indirects Global Category Managers and other Global and cross regional stakeholders in above market sourcing projects supplier management and other Global projects

ESSENTIAL

Experience Required

  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience in project management and personnel management
  • Excellent managerial skills with the ability to resolve conflict provide coaching direction feedback and develop a vision
  • Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting cost management financial accounting treasury risk management business cases evaluation etc.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to set strategy and direction
  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop effective teams and foster collaboration across teams
  • Ability to make sound and timely decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management and business continuity planning
  • Analytical mindset but also critical and creativity to seek encourage and find non traditional approaches

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Business or related field and 10 years of experience or Post Graduate Degree in Engineering Business or related field and 7 years of relevant work experience
