Job Description
Holy Cross Academy a PreK 8th grade coed Catholic school of nearly 480 students in beautiful historic Fredericksburg VA is seeking an experienced learning support teacher for theschool year and beyond who will inspire his/her students to grow academically spiritually emotionally and socially. HCA is the parish school of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in the Diocese of Arlington. The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic have a background in special education teaching experience at the elementary and middle school level an undergraduate degree in education (masters is preferred) strong technology integration skills and experience using differentiated instruction. Experience as either a math or reading specialist would also be valued.
Our learning support teacher works with students individually and in small groups to support and build their fundamental skills and support their classroom learning. The learning support teacher must be experienced writing and working with IEP/student support plans as well as helping parents navigate the educational testing process. Our student support teacher also serves as a resource for classroom teachers providing them with strategies to support all their learners.
