Qualified candidates will have 2 years of medical business office experience in a similar capacity and must demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and insurance. Must have the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment while ensuring excellent patient care and remain flexible to shifting assignments based on business needs. Responsibilities will include the following based on the assignment:
- Checks in patients; collects payments and verifies and/or updates insurance. Obtains proper insurance documentation and demographic information.
- Processes new patient paperwork and/or updated paperwork.
- Follows established procedures to prepare for upcoming appointments.
- Explains insurance authorization to patients as necessary.
- Posts payments and balances at the end of each day and prepares daily deposits following established procedures.
- Schedules new patient appointments.
- Posts charges.
- Supports the office by covering switchboard as necessary.
- Answers busy telephones responds to requests and/or directs to appropriate party.
- Provides financial estimates to patients
- Complies with all our processes and HIPAA regulations.
- Applies our values in decisionmaking and interactions with all individuals.
- Promotes a positive work environment through effective teamwork.
- Other duties as assigned by changing needs patient flow or physician request.
