Job Description

Research Education and Training Administrative Coordinator

Location: San Diego CA.

The USC Keck School of Medicine Alzheimers Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI) located in San Diego California is an academic institute comprised of scientific collaborators committed to advancing the development of new treatments for Alzheimers disease through innovative clinical trials.

This Research Education and Training Administrative Coordinator position is based in the ATRI Section of Biostatistics under the direction of Prof. Raman. This position will report to Dr. Raman and support the administrative and project needs for the Alzheimers Clinical Trials Consortium (ACTC) Engagement Education Access and Accountability (E2A2. The Unit is led by Dr. Raman and is dedicated to supporting the training and developing the clinical trials workforce and leadership within ACTC.

The Coordinator will support facilitate and coordinate all Unit initiatives and projects. They will provide administrative project management to faculty across multiple projects. They will organize teleconferences meetings and training sessions and prepares meeting minutes. They will communicate and interface directly with initiative leads and committees and oversee timelines and milestones to ensure that targeted deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate and support all initiatives and programs within the ACTE2A2 Unit ensuring alignment with the units goals of fostering a fair and welcoming environment.
  • Coordinate the planning and tracking of key initiatives working closely with faculty initiative leads and committees.
  • Monitor project timelines milestones and deliverables proactively addressing any challenges to ensure successful implementation.
  • Serve as a liaison between Unit leads initiative leads faculty and committees ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide regular updates on initiative progress upcoming deadlines and action items.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings workshops and training sessions related to unit initiatives.
  • Support the of events by managing logistics scheduling and participant coordination.
  • Maintain detailed records of initiative activities progress and outcomes.
  • Provide project management support to faculty across multiple initiatives.
  • Ensure initiatives comply with institutional policies and guidelines.
  • Assist in preparing reports and documentation for leadership and funding agencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Public Health Psychology Neuroscience Clinical Research Administration or related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of experience in research academic or healthcare settings.
    • Prior experience supporting clinical trials or research studies is highly desirable.
    • Experience with data management tools such as REDCap and other relational databases.
    • Experience working with crossfunctional teams and academic professionals in a research environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
    • Strong ability to track document and report on activities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and maintain relationships with faculty researchers participants and external partners.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic research environment adjusting priorities as needed.

The hourly rate range for this position is $29.19 $37.25. When extending an offer of employment the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position the candidates work experience education/training key skills internal peer equity federal state and local laws contractual stipulations grant funding as well as external market and organizational considerations.
