Job Responsibilities:
The Manager of Federal Affairs is responsible for lobbying federal agencies on behalf of the ADA through both written communications and inperson meetings with agency staff at all levels. The manager also assists with the development and delivery of the ADAs legislative and regulatory priorities in Congress through written testimony letters and other communications. These activities require a close working relationship with ADA leadership and frequent independent decisionmaking.
Must Have:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including crafting compelling messages for policymakers stakeholders and leadership
Strong analytical collaboration and presentation abilities
Effective negotiation and interpersonal skills to navigate complex political environments and sensitive issues
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with congressional staff and members to advance policy objectives
Selfstarter with a resultsfocused approach and the ability to prioritize and think strategically
Position may require before or after hours work may require weekend work and may require more than the standard number of hours of work within a workweek
