What you will do at Precinct One
Harris County Precinct One is looking for a Constituent Services Coordinator!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will work directly with community members to address various issues. Reports outcomes and trends across the precinct and recommend areas for service improvement. You will serve as the point of contact for the community by tracking and responding to casework correspondence meeting with constituents via phone or facetoface and tracking constituent calls letters and online correspondence. Provide followup and respond to constituents. Identify constituent trends and patterns and report those patterns to make recommendations for improvement where needed. Act as a liaison for federal state and local agencies community. Screens and refers cases to other government agencies as required. Perform case management by tracking cases reporting on outstanding issues.

Requirements
- Experience:
What you will bring to Precinct One
Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution
- Three 3 years of experience in addressing constituent concerns case management or community engagement or outreach
- Education may substitute for some experience
- Proficiency in all Microsoft software applications including Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint and SharePoint
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:- Knowledge of methods to engage communities and perform outreach efforts
- Skilled at initiating conversations with various stakeholders to determine important matters to them and their communities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Precinct One employees and constituents
- Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments
- Ability to multitask work independently and quickly change priorities
- Ability to use and understand common database spreadsheet and word processing applications
- Ability to evaluate trends and make suggestions for improvement of community related programs
- Ability to perform case management to included tracking and reporting on all cases in all stages of completion

Bachelors Degree in Social Work Counseling Sociology Psychology or a related field of study from an accredited college or university(preferred)

Constituent Services Team
The Constituent Services Team provides a single point of contact for residents to present inquiries concerns requests compliments and other feedback. Team members will act as an introduction to the Precincts mission by demonstrating their commitment to being a model of responsive public service. The team will document the type of request made by constituents; make appropriate referrals to respective departments in the Precinct and elsewhere; track the process and share the status of the case with constituents; and report the outcome so that the division can run reports to help identify issue trends and patterns to inform a variety of stakeholders. In addition to serving the needs of communities through referrals and case management the staff will also build and maintain a directory of resources. This division also serves to gauge constituent satisfaction with Precinct Ones service levels and programs; allowing the division to provide timely information to other departments to help further the overall mission of the Precinct.About Precinct One
There are four precincts in Harris County. The four elected commissioners along with an elected county judge serve as members of Harris County Commissioners Court the administrative head of the countys government. Commissioner Rodney Ellis represents the constituents of Precinct One.
With approximately 1.17 million residents Harris County Precinct One is a diverse urban precinct that covers 363 square miles. Precinct Ones multiracial multiethnic population is roughly 33 percent African American 38 percent Latino 21 percent Anglo 6 percent Asian and 2 percent other or multiple races.
Precinct One stretches south to Brazoria County and reaches into eastern and northern sections of Harris County. The Precincts territory includes a large section of Downtown Houston including the Downtown Harris County Courthouse Complex Toyota Center Minute Maid Park and the BBVA Compass Stadium. Other notable landmarks include the 263acre NRG Park Complex and the renowned Texas Medical Center. The Precinct is also the higher educational home to Houston Community College Rice University Texas Southern University the University of Houston and the University of St. Thomas. Precinct One manages more than 21 parks 10 community centers numerous hikeandbike trails three maintenance service centers and several area offices all of which provide an array of services to Precinct One residents.How to apply
