Ideal candidate will be looking after South West & Midlands as Technical Service Manager so can live in either place or between the two.
Key Purpose of the Job:
Service and maintenance of Intruder Detection CCTV and Access Control systems along with maintenance of electronic fire alarm systems in accordance with the current standards
Assist the REM in the recruitment retention motivation and development of the regional Engineering team.
Assist Supervisors and Engineers to deliver a high standard of customer service to their allocated contracts and sites within the region maximising profitability and always retaining KPI s in line with SLAs.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance of various intruder CCTV and access control fire alarms (both conventional and addressable) along with highlevel fault finding within basic to complex systems.
- Support Engineers and Supervisors technically and attend problematic sites to resolve any/all issues if required.
- Mentoring of other Engineers and identification of training needs
- Help deliver maintenance and faultfinding (corrective) KPI s & agreed targets e.g. first time fix repeat visits etc.
- Audit of all KST Engineers and SubContractors as directed by REM and Compliance including H&S.
- Drive improvement across the regional Engineering team and contribute to the wider business.
- Assist with OnCall Rota for OOH callouts by providing telephone and remote support
- Ensure OnCall Rota is in place and covered each month.
- Assist with fieldbased Engineers Performance Appraisals.
- Demonstrate system operation to clients and provide operator training.
- Assist the REM and Installation Manager with service/project planning and implementation.
- Support the REM in all aspects of service delivery
- Provide detailed reports and feedback on KST Engineers and SubContractors along with technical site audits providing solutions and changes where applicable.
- Provide Management cover for the region in the absence of the REM
- Any other reasonable requests from management
- The post holder will ensure the health safety and welfare of themselves and their team in accordance with Kings Policy.
Requirements
Essential Requirements for the job:
- Effective communication skills
- Highlevel faultfinding skills & demonstrable firsttime fix rates
- A proven background and experience of working within both security & fire engineering
- Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of various intruder panels e.g. Galaxy Menvier & Scantronic.
- Network/IP based product experience
- Experience of undertaking service repair work
- Experience of conventional and addressable fire systems across a range of manufacturers equipment
- Good installation practices
- Knowledge of integration of detection systems into other disciplines would be a real advantage
- Full understanding of BS5839 and all relevant NACP s is essential
- Full driving license
Desirable requirements for the job:
- Advanced Fire Alarm & Security systems knowledge
- Electrical or Electronic background
- FIA Service & Maintenance of Fire Extinguishers
- Good overall fire product knowledge
- Previous experience of supervising or managing persons or a team
