Job Description

Associates are responsible for participating in our Companys incident and injury prevention programs as well as our Companys environmental programs. All associates must comply with our environmental health and safety policies and procedures as well as federal state and local regulations. 

In this position youll have the opportunity to: grow and learn through opportunities to assist with all aspects of our EHSS management systems.  Coordinate the safety and health function plant wide by assisting in the implementation of effective safety policies procedures and training programs based on task analysis and needs assessment. Assist in developing and implementing EHSS programs policies and training initiatives. This position will require strong communication with Plant and Leadership members.  The ideal candidate will be able to perform technical work in a widerange of environmental health and safety disciplines to ensure a safe work environment and achieve compliance with our Environmental Health Safety and Security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support day to day Environmental Health Safety and Security operations including Ergonomic programs and initiatives.
  • Develop implement and maintain programs systems and procedures necessary to ensure the overall health and safety of associates.
  • Review and approve new and existing equipment design with coordination through Operations and Engineering.
  • Conduct incident investigations for accidents incidents injuries and complaints concerning potential hazards or unsafe conditions in the workplace.
  • Perform various presentations on EHS topics to all associates including OSHA Regulatory Training PSM Ergonomics and other topics.
  • Collaborate with Plant Safety Committee Learning Teams and Department CI meetings driving participation supplying critical data coaching and support.
  • Maintain Records: Training Contractor Agreements and Facility Safety Requirements.
  • Assist with management of plant security.
  • Fabrication team direction Dotted line responsibility for fabrication associate(s) ensuring they are completing ergonomic and safety projects while balancing production needs.
  • Serve as a technical expert and provide direction for EHSS and Ergonomics.
  • Provide technical advice and interpretation of various regulations and policies; maintain working knowledge of regulations.
  • Identify assess and monitor workplace hazards that could be present in the work area; remediate hazards and/or recommend improvements to minimize hazard potential including ergonomic assessments and data analysis to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Recommend improvements in processes design procedures and operating equipment.
  • Provide onsite support during emergencies and emergency recovery efforts.
  • Coordinate projects with EHS vendors and contractors.
  • Develop and manage capital expenditures.
  • Provide assistance to other sites for Health and Safety needs as requested.

Qualifications :

Successful candidates will have:

  • Fouryear degree in EHS Ergonomics or related field required.
  • EHS and/ or ergonomic certifications highly preferred.
  • Two plus years of work experience in ergonomics and environmental health and safety related field.
  • Familiarity with relevant ergonomic software and tools for analysis and simulation.
  • Practical handson experience with ergonomics providing education/training risk assessment Incident Investigation etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel and Power Point.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills highly detail orientated.
  • Selfstarter motivated individual.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing priorities in a rapid growth environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • OSHA NIOSH and ANSI standard knowledge and experience.

 


Additional Information :

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $78000 $95700. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to education training experience professional achievement business need and location.  In addition to base salary employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a rolebased sales incentive plan.
