Job Description
Job Title: Cytology Technician (Team Lead) Full Time Day Shift
Location: Albany GA
Job Summary: Works closely with and is directly responsible for pathologists in preparing and interpreting pap smears and body fluid specimens. Trains and supervises staff assigned to cytology area in these procedures. Participates in EBUS procedures as necessary to obtain proper specimens and provide adequate result turnaround time to the Physician. Responsible for management of Cytology to include regulatory compliance and budget. Maintains certification accreditation activities required by accrediting agencies and the state and federal government.

Job Responsibilities Include:
- Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values mission and vision of the procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibilities (i.e. selfeducation attends ongoing educational programs)
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory inservices and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
- Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on the age sex weight and demonstrated needs. For nonclinical areas has attended training and demonstrates usage of agespecific customer service skills.
- Wear protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
Requirements:
Education 4year / Bachelors Degree in Cytology (Required)
Experience 23 years Cytology (Required)
Licensure/Registry Cytotechnologist (CTASCP)
General Skills Organizational Skills. Communication Skills. Interpersonal Skills. Customer Relations. Analytical. Grammar/spelling. Read/comprehend written instructions. Follow verbal instructions. Microsoft office suite.
Physical Requirements Have near normal vision Clarity of vision (both near and far) ability to distinguish colors. Have goodmanual dexterity and eyehandfoot coordination. Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motion.
