Job Description
The Project Engineer performs a variety of increasingly complex and technical duties related to the facilities planning and construction program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Running design or construction meeting conducting field checks preparing written and photographic materials including correspondence reports procedures guidelines meeting minutes and files.
- Person primarily responsible to maintain project files in both electronic and paper format.
- Functional knowledge of contracts drawings estimates and specifications to evaluate and ensure relation and compliance to project requirements.
- Obtain and maintain data information communications and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner architects engineers contractors/subcontractors or other project related entities.
- Design Team Coordination for conformance review and timely and accurate responses to request for informations submittals construction change documents etc.
- Maintain document and project controls systems and procedures. Monitors evaluates and ensures compliance with systems and procedures.
- Participate in project meetings to include documentation administration and tracking of relevant information and statuses.
- Makes field checks on construction demolition rehabilitation alteration addition or repair projects to determine compliance with job specifications and plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering Construction Management or Architecture is preferred (Extensive relevant construction management experience in place of education may be considered)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a project engineer is required
- Preferred experience with justice/correctional public projects in California
- Effective oral and written communication skills are required
- Knowledge of project controls/scheduling documentation engineering/construction principles techniques materials applications and practices is required
- Experience with large projects is preferred
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products Bluebeam Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software and experience with projectrelated Construction Management systems are preferred
Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of nondiscriminatory factors including education qualifications experience and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $80000 $85000 .
