The Technical Officer for Image Processing and Analysis will bring additional data evaluation expertise to the UNSW preclinical Imaging facility the Biological Resources Imaging Lab (BRIL) to support our users in image analysis helping them to retrieve research relevant quantitative imaging biomarkers from data acquired on our imaging instruments.
The position will contribute to the implementation and maintenance of BRIL IT systems for image analysis and provide support for a wide range of processing software tools to extract image information for preclinical research projects.
The role will work closely with facility users and other facility staff to provide and customize software packages to cover the full processing pipeline from raw instrument data to processed research outcomes including image transfer conversion structural analysis (coregistration segmentation etc. and biomarker quantification of images from user research projects.
The Position reports to the Head of the Biological Resources Imaging Laboratory and has no direct reports.

About the successful applicant
You have a degree (BSc or MSc) in Biomedical Engineering Computer Science Imaging Science or a related field with a strong foundation in signal and image analysis or informatics as well as experience in signal and image processing algorithms in medical or preclinical domain. Youll also be able to demonstrate the following Skills and Experience:
