Position and Salary:

The Attorney Generals Office is recruiting for a permanent full timeParalegal 2 in the Solicitor Generals Office. This position is located in Olympia Washington and is represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE).

Paralegal 2 (Range 55 salary range: $59844 $80460
The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidates jobrelated knowledge skills and experience.

About the Solicitor Generals Office:

The Solicitor Generals Office is currently comprised of 11 attorneys and 6 professional staff. The office coordinates the involvement of the Attorney Generals Office in cases before the United States Supreme Court assists the AGO in preparing and presenting appellate cases in state and federal courts directly handles select appeals and coordinates the AGOs involvement with amicus curiae Friend of the Court briefs. The SGO also is responsible for preparing and issuing Attorney General Opinions to officials statutorily authorized to request them working in conjunction with the Attorney General Opinions Committee to accomplish this responsibility.

The Solicitor Generals Office carries out the Attorney Generals duties to prepare ballot titles and explanatory statements for ballot measures and represents the state in litigation involving the powers of initiative and referendum. The Solicitor Generals Office serves as counsel to the Governor Lieutenant Governor Legislature Secretary of State and Judicial Clients (Administrative Office of the Courts Office of Public Defense and Office of Civil Legal Aid). The Solicitor General serves as the Chair of the AGO Ethics Committee and the SGO plays a role in coordinating legal advice on issues of statewide significance.
