Litigation Support-Paralegal or Junior Solicitor
Greater London / Essex
28000- 35000 depending on experience
Our client is winning some excellent new clients and cases. The approach to business and the cases they take on is different and proving very successful.
As the business is developing they need support and more resources from a paralegal or junior solicitor.
The main areas needing support are in litigation. The workload and clients are very varied and it is a great opportunity to bring your current litigation skills and experience into a new environment where you will learn and develop
Requirements
- Offer legal advice and legal documentation and assist senior solicitors at all levels and other clients of the Legal Department.
- Develop competent knowledge and offer legal advice in Litigation (civil criminal public and employment).
- Offer legal advice at your level of knowledge.
- Competently conduct and manage cases
- To attend as required at tribunals courts meetings and to develop the skills and ability to advise clients on their litigation case.
- Conduct interviews with clients
- Understand client expectations and requirements
- Assess legal problems and advise clients on costs.
- Conduct legal research for each case. Devise an outline strategy for the case.
- Deliver transactional goals. Draft case papers and get information from relevant experts
- Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the other side s case and brief a barrister.
- Help to negotiate settlements
- Meet deadlines for court appearances. Issue proceedings.
- Attend court to conduct advocacy and/or with counsel and/or to take notes. Make applications to the court
