SUMMARY

Highly skilled and experienced IT Infrastructure Supervisor to oversee the design implementation and maintenance of our network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daytoday operations of our IT infrastructure operations team ensuring the reliability and performance of our network systems and providing technical leadership for critical IT projects. This role requires a candidate with significant experience in network administration telecommunications and supervisory experience in an enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Infrastructure Management: Supervise and manage the operation and performance of the Citys network infrastructure ensuring the reliability and performance of systems across 250 locations with over 6000 devices.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of network administrators and technicians providing guidance training and support for professional development and operational excellence.
  • Systems Maintenance: Oversee the administration and maintenance of Cisco Routers Switches Aruba network equipment and other related network devices.
  • Project Oversight: Manage and ensure the success of networkrelated projects including upgrades troubleshooting and the installation of new network equipment and services.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain robust network security measures including monitoring for vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Incident Resolution: Coordinate and resolve any networkrelated incidents ensuring timely and effective solutions while minimizing downtime.
  • Technical Support: Provide expertlevel technical support for both internal teams and external stakeholders regarding network infrastructure issues.
  • Vendor Management: Work closely with external vendors to ensure the timely delivery of network infrastructure equipment and services.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of network configurations performance logs and incident reports. Prepare periodic reports for senior management on network performance and ongoing issues.
  • Disaster Recovery: Oversee the development and of disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Over 10 years of handson experience in IT with substantial experience in managing largescale network infrastructures.
    • At least 7 years of experience in the telecommunications field including installing maintaining and troubleshooting network systems.
    • Proven experience supervising teams in highdemand IT environments including a 24hour emergency operations center.
  • Certifications:
    • Cisco CCNA CCNP or equivalent
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertlevel proficiency with Cisco Routers and Switches (ASR9000 C9300 C9500 Nexus 9000 ie2000 ie3200 WLC and Cisco wireless
    • Indepth experience with Aruba hardware including CX6200 CX6300 CX8300 & Aruba wireless ClearPass and other Aruba network management systems including cloudbased Aruba Central
    • Knowledge and handson experience with IPAM Solarwinds CyberArk and other enterprise software.
    • Experience with Netmotion VPN Sierra Wireless AMM NAC support using 802.1x and zerotrust methodologies
    • Strong proficiency with optical multiplex chassis CWDM/DWDM systems especially Cisco ONS M15454 and Ciena Waveserver
  • Education:
    • Associates degree in Networking Technology or a related field from an accredited institution
    • BAS in Networking Technology and Computer Engineering Technology preferred or relevant experience

  • High attention to detail with the ability to ensure that network configurations and maintenance meet operational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams vendors and external stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of network security monitoring tools and best practices.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

The Citys Background Check Policy requires background checks to be conducted on final internal or external candidate(s) applying for any position with the City of Charlotte. Final candidates must pass a preemployment drugscreening test and physical examination. During the selection process candidates may be asked to take a skills test and/or participate in other assessments.
