Job Description

Job Summary

Develops implements and maintains a College recruitment program to enhance student enrollment and retention; coordinates recruits and advises a particular target student population and is actively involved in the recruitment advisement and registration of students; acts as a liaison with and creates partnerships with various community groups; researches community needs and trends; develops and executes marketing plans and materials and recommends adjustments to the longrange program plan; assists in developing program budget monitoring expenditures and participating in budget planning to support the marketing plan; manages the communication series to prospective students and helps maintain the Student Information System; and works with Financial Aid and the CAC Foundation for a county scholarship for surrounding schools.

Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for the coordination recruitment and advising of a particular target student population and is actively involved in the recruitment advisement and registration of those students; develops implements and maintains a College recruitment program which includes recruitment of students high school relations business/industry relations and outreach activities.
  • Collaborates with high schools regarding Dual Enrollment; meets with high school counselors and administration.
  • Actively participates in the recruitment admissions and registration of students of the Colleges high school programs and targeted population; develops presentations and presents workshops on a variety of program related issues; works closely with school officials to strengthen and maintain relationships at target sites; conducts workshops and information sessions to promote higher education and ensure program participants are aware of the services and resources available; assists with the planning and coordination of events and activities of the College; and attends various events such as career and job fairs high school visits and community activities and events.
  • Recruits and advises students on program and/or College requirements; resolves student issues and/or problems related to the admissions process; conducts recruitment and admission activities at offcampus sites and provides assistance with the College web site as a recruitment tool and online student services as they pertain to the recruitment process; coordinates workshops for Pinal County high school guidance counselors; supports planning and conducts open houses high school tours in the fall and an outreach program for the spring semester.
  • Conducts research analyzes community and/or program needs; develops and executes marketing plans and materials with the Marketing team and recommends adjustments to the longrange program plan; and assists in developing program budget monitoring expenditures and participating in budget planning to support the marketing plan.
  • Manages the communication series to prospective students and helps maintain the Student Information System concerning recruitment and admissions; plans organizes and conducts enrollment workshops for students staff and faculty to include admissions financial aid and transfer orientations; helps with retention functions and activities in conjunction with institutional goals and supporting programs; and participates with departmental planning.
  • Participates in committee assignments and in the recruitment and retention of students.
  • Performs other duties commensurate with functions and level of position or as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Associate degree.

EXPERIENCE: Two 2 years of related experience.

SPECIAL POSITION CONDITIONS: Considerable statewide travel required using own means of transportation. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

Background Verification: As a condition of employment all candidates accepting an offer of employment for a fulltime part time temporary student worker or volunteer position will be required to undergo a Background Verification. Employment with Central Arizona College is contingent upon the successful completion of the background verification. The level the background verification for this position is: Standard level.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of recruitment and admission programs and activities to include development planning evaluation and review.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of software for analysis of data marketing and recruitment strategies data interpretation and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of specific processes policies and procedures of office management and workflow procedures to include effective management of workload.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws rules and regulations regarding area of practice.
  • Skill in operating a variety of multimedia equipment computer systems hardware and relevant software applications including database management systems in admissions and recruitment.
  • Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
  • Skill in communicating with students regarding College policies and procedures.
  • Skill in gathering compiling and presenting information in oral and/or written form.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of highly confidential information records and sensitive situations in an effective manner.
  • Ability to produce new imaginative or innovative solutions different from traditional approaches.

This is a pension system that requires mandatory contributions from the employee with a matching contribution from the employer. The 2425 fiscal year contribution rate is 12.27.
