Operations Manager Solid Waste Industry

Job Summary
The Operations Manager reporting to the District Manager will oversee the daytoday operations of the depot including managing all drivers dispatchers and support staff. This role is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency safety compliance and effective service delivery while fostering a culture of employee engagement and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and direct all depot staff ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.
Manage daily operations including routing logistics and dispatch.
Monitor and control labor and operating expenditures.
Foster employee engagement and drive a positive work culture.
Enforce safety and accident prevention programs.
Maintain municipal contracts and build strong relationships with local government officials.
Develop and implement training programs.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and industry safety standards.
Support maintenance to ensure equipment compliance.
Collaborate across departments for special projects and community events.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business or related field.
2 years of experience in transportation or solid waste management preferred.
Experience managing teams and developing employee engagement strategies.
Strong knowledge of HRIS systems AMCS ENCORE Intelex and MS Office.
Strong problemsolving analytical and decisionmaking abilities.
Ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels.
Familiarity with DOT rules and safety regulations.
Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
