DescriptionThe Program Coordinator is part of the Office of Undergraduate Medical Educations (OUME) Longitudinal Elements team at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (VUSM). The program coordinator is responsible for completing a variety of tasks that effectively create positive teaching and learning experiences for faculty and medical students. The Program Coordinator partners with the teams Senior Program Manager and assigned faculty on administrative and operational tasks involved in course delivery including setup in the online learning management system classroom preparation triaging system issues and tracking 2ndyear student progress for Foundations of Physician Responsibility (FPR2 in the MD program. This position also supports the administrative teammates and assigned faculty for Foundations of Health Care Delivery (FHD) for 3rd and 4thyear medical students in the Immersion Phase of the MD curriculum. Reporting directly to the Longitudinal Elements Senior Program Manager the Program Coordinator will regularly collaborate with other course support staff instructional designers and VU and VUMC faculty.

Key Functions and Expected Performance:
- Executes the course creation setup and delivery of Foundations of Physician ResponsibilitySystems (Health Systems & Processes Quality Improvement & Patient Safety Health Policy & Economics Informatics Data Science AI & Innovation) and Foundations Health Care Delivery (Interprofessional Education Advanced Communication Public Health and Population Health) within VSTAR VUSMs online learning management system. Will assist with other teambased courses (Foundations of the Profession) as needed.
- Contributes to the logistical course management process for assigned courses: importing course resources into VSTAR assembling and delivering supplies appropriately creating and duplicating a variety of tasks relative to active courses and determining operational needs by collaborating with faculty and staff team.
- Assists staff team with the onsite classroom setup for assigned courses including directing student traffic to appropriate classrooms attending sessions to answer inquiries by students and faculty confirming technology is working appropriately and materials are wellorganized and available.
- Identifies researches and selects the facilities necessary for program activities such as specific classes or meetings through the online classroom management system (EMS).
- Oversees student tracking and correspondence (assignments assessments etc. for assigned courses to confirm students are completing requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
- Actively monitors shared email inbox providing timely and professional responses or direction as needed ensuring quality program correspondence.
- With leadership input recommendsimplements and tracks improvements for activities related to course management by routinely engaging in weekly meetings or other touchpoints to determine the most productive methods.
- Maps learning objectives of assigned courses in an online database to assist the medical school with tracking topical threads throughout the MD curriculum.
- Empowered to make onsite decisions to resolve problems brought forth by faculty and student participants suppliers and vendors.
- Other duties as assigned including projects as time and interests allow.
Education and Certifications:
- A high school diploma is necessary.
- A Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of work experience preferably in an academic or healthcarerelated setting is preferred.
- Experience in program administration and coordination is preferred.
- Experience with a learning management system or other cloudbased or application system (e.g. databases scheduling platforms) is preferred.
- Established computer skills specifically basic functions of Microsoft Excel are necessary.
- Demonstrated organizational skills (planning tracking and/or experience using tools to keep track of work) are preferred.
- Ability to work independently take initiative manage multiple tasks simultaneously meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities are essential.
