Job Description
The Head Cheer Coach provides leadership organization and supervision for all aspects of the cheerleading program. The Head Cheer Coach is responsible for the teaching of sportspecific fundamentals and skills associated with their assigned sport which includes but is not limited to; observing and evaluating performance demonstrating proper techniques and executing practice plans to improve studentathlete skill level. In addition the Head Coach is responsible for providing strategic instruction to their studentathletes during practice and performances on certain situations relative to their instruction. The head coach is responsible for the management of all aspects of the cheer program including events and fundraisers. Serves as an oncourt coach during practices and games provides advice on strategy while evaluating player performance and demonstrating proper skills or techniques needed to perform at a high level. Candidates must be able to choreograph routines that incorporate dance cheer tumbling and stunting.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the districts policies and applicable laws.
- Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
- Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times.
- Works closely with the school principal and athletics director.
- Develops a consistent and positive communications with the school staff students parents and general public.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by theprincipal and athletics director.
- Must be reliable responsible and dependable and fulfill obligations.
